DEBUT OF: Anne Heche as Laura &

A new morning has come to the residents of Pine Valley. The rain has stopped, and the sun is out shining. At Erica’s Penthouse, Erica and Jackson have just woken up, and are cuddled up on the couch together.
ERICA: Thank you for spending the night.
JACKSON: My pleasure.
ERICA: So, we just kind of went to sleep with one another. And, we never got to talk about what you said to me. You said you want to get back together.
JACKSON: I do.
Before Jackson can say more, there is a knock at the door. Erica gets up, and puts her robe on. Jackson sits up on the couch.
ERICA: I should go and get that.
JACKSON: Yeah...yeah...you should.
Erica walks to the door, and opens it.
ERICA: Bianca. What a lovely surprise.
Bianca smiles, as she looks passed Erica, and notices Jackson.
BIANCA: It might be a lovely surprise, but is it welcomed?
---
At JR’s Apartment, Dixie steps off the elevator, and walks to the apartment door. She calmly knocks. As soon as she does a knock, Kevin (JR dopp) comes to the door.
KEVIN: Mom.
DIXIE: Hello, JR.
KEVIN: So, what brings you by.
DIXIE: (laughs) Does a mom need an excuse to see her son?
---
At the PVPD, Liza enters, and goes straight to Jesse.
ANNOUNCER: The role of Liza Colby is once again being played by, Marcy Walker.
LIZA: Jesse, hi.
JESSE: Hi, can I help you?
LIZA: I just wanted to know if you had any leads in my case?
JESSE: We can talk in my office. Let’s go.
Liza and Jesse walk off. Across the station, a woman walks up to the desk.
MAN: Can I help you, miss?
KATRINA: I’m looking for Chief Hubbard.
MAN: He is in his office.
KATRINA: Thank you.
Katrina walks off to Jesse’s office. She enters the office.
JESSE: Miss, do you mind? What do you need?
KATRINA: Actually you can.
LIZA: (standing) Katrina…
JESSE: (standing) Liza, you know this woman?
LIZA: Yes. She was a client that I defended. Katrina, what can I help you with?
KATRINA: I’m here to confess to a crime.
JESSE: What crime, may I ask?
KATRINA: I shot Liza Colby.

At ConFusion, Cara and Oliver are having breakfast.
ANNOUNCER: The role of Oliver Hayward is now being played by, Owen Best.
OLIVER: I am really worried about Uncle Griff.
CARA: Why?
OLIVER: I was watching the news last night, and there was a bomb that went off in this religious and holy place.
CARA: Honey, listen. You uncle is there to help the people that get hurt, and he is so secure. I promise you that. Don’t be scared.
OLIVER: Thanks mom.
CARA: I love you, son.
OLIVER: I love you too, mom.

At Krystal’s Diner, a woman in black stilettos walks up to the bar counter, and takes a seat on a bar stool. Krystal lays down a napkin for the woman.
KRYSTAL: Welcome to Krystal’s Diner. I’m Krystal, and I will be taking care of you. So, what can I get you, miss?
WOMAN: Black coffee would be nice.
KRYSTAL: You’ve got it.
Krystal gets the woman a cup of black coffee.
KRYSTAL: Hey, I have never seen you around before. Do you mind me asking your name?
WOMAN: No, not at all.
The woman takes a sip of her coffee.
LAURA: My name is Laura. Laura Templeton.
---
Back at Erica’s Penthouse, Bianca enters, as Erica shuts the door; and turns back. Jackson stands up, and Bianca sets her purse down.
BIANCA: Hey, uncle Jack.
JACKSON: Hey, kiddo.
BIANCA: So...uh...uh…, this is a surprise to me, I have to say. I hope I am not just jumping to conclusions, but are you two back together?
ERICA: Uh…
JACKSON: You might as well tell her.
ERICA: (going to Jackson) We are, honey.
Bianca laughs joyfully.
BIANCA: I am so happy for you two! It is about time you two wised up, and made the right decision. I’m proud of you guys, I know this probably was not easy.
ERICA: What would give you that idea, sweetheart?
BIANCA: Well, you guys left things in a sticky situation a while ago. I truly did not think there was really any hope, and that was kinda starting to break my heart.
JACKSON: I think there will always be hope for your mother and I.
ERICA: I like to think that to. Anyways, honey, what brings you by?
BIANCA: I just wanted to come over. I was in the neighborhood, going to work.
ERICA: You got a job? That’s fantastic! Doing what?
BIANCA: Kendall hired me at Fusion. Kind of hired me back. Anyways, she has this new perfume she’s working on. She brought Madison on board, and then me last night.
JACKSON: What about Greenlee?
BIANCA: I just think Greenlee is having a hard time right now, and the stress of work is probably the last thing she needs. I mean I heard about Gillian being alive, and then she just lost her baby last year…
ERICA: I’m sure she will come in soon.
BIANCA: I’m sure she will too. She is a very smart business woman.
JACKSON: My daughter always has been.
BIANCA: Very true, uncle Jack. Greenlee is a lot of things, and a smart business woman has always been one of her best qualities.
ERICA: Even I will say that.
BIANCA: Anyways, like I said, I just wanted to stop by. So, I will go ahead and get out of your hair. I have a busy day at the office.
ERICA: Alrighty, then.
Bianca kisses and hugs her mother. Then, she gives a hug to Jackson, and grabs her purse. She walks to the door.
BIANCA: (opening the door) Love you mom. Love you uncle Jack.
JACKSON & ERICA: Love you too.
Bianca walks out, closing the door behind her.
ERICA: I don’t know about you, but I could go for some breakfast.
JACKSON: Sounds good to me.
---
Back at ConFusion, Cara and Oliver’s table have reached the end of their breakfast. They are waiting for their table to be cleared.
CARA: Hey, I had a question for you.
OLIVER: What’s up, mom?
CARA: I got a call from your teacher the other day, and she told me that you were failing English. Would you like to tell me what that is all about?
OLIVER: (sighs) I really am close to getting my grade back up. It is just that we are reading this Shakespeare play, and everything is so hard to understand.
CARA: Oliver, I’m not gonna lie. English was not one of my best subjects, but you have to try harder. I had to try very hard. No one in my childhood home would let me slip out of a 4.0 GPA. And, you can ask your uncle Griff about that, and he’ll tell you the same thing.
OLIVER: How did you do it?
CARA: I stayed after school a lot. I read a book for two hours each day. There is a lot you can do, and I am here.
OLIVER: Thanks mom.
CARA: Of course. You know what? I’m gonna let you take the day off.
OLIVER: Seriously?
CARA: Of course I will. But, one time deal.
OLIVER: Okay.
CARA: And, you still have to do your chores, but after that you are free.
OLIVER: You’re the best mom ever.
CARA: Duh.
The two share a laugh.

Back at Krystal’s Diner, Laura takes her wallet out of her purse.
LAURA: How much do I owe?
KRYSTAL: Oh, don’t worry about that. On the house.
LAURA: Really?
KRYSTAL: Yeah. Think about it as a welcome to Pine Valley gift.
LAURA: (putting away wallet) Thank you.
KRYSTAL: You’re welcome. So Laura, what do you do for a living?
LAURA: I am a reporter.
KRYSTAL: Wow. That’s great. Is that what brought you town?
LAURA: Yeah. I got a job with the Pine Valley Gazette.
KRYSTAL: Well congratulations!
LAURA: Thank you, Krystal. Well, it is my first day of work, and I don’t wanna be late. Thanks again for the free coffee.
KRYSTAL: Not a problem. My pleasure.
LAURA: (grabbing purse) I guess I will see you around.
KRYSTAL: Yeah.
LAURA: Seya later.
KRYSTAL: Seya. And, again. Welcome to town.
LAURA: Thanks.
Laura walks out, as Krystal begins wiping down the counter, and taking care of her mug.
---
Back at JR’s Apartment, JR (impostor) and Dixie sit on the couch.
DIXIE: My real reason for stopping by is because I do have some news.
KEVIN: What’s that?
DIXIE: Tad and I are going to try and have another baby.
KEVIN: Mom, that is great.
DIXIE: Isn’t it? Gosh, I just…for months now I have been feeling this whole empty nest thing. You know? And, so, here I am. Trying.
KEVIN: Good for you.
DIXIE: Hey, are you okay? You seem off.
KEVIN: I’m...I’m...I’m good.
DIXIE: You stuttered there. The JR I know does not stutter when he is supposedly fine and dandy. Honey, what’s going on?
KEVIN: Just stress is all.
DIXIE: Well, I am always here to talk, okay? I love you.
KEVIN: Me too, mom.
Dixie is caught off guard, considering JR usually shows her great appreciation.

Back at the PVPD, Jesse and Liza are shocked.
JESSE: Miss Winslow, is this true?
KATRINA: It is.
LIZA: Katrina, what the hell? You shot me? Do you have any idea what I went through? I almost died. I flatlined in my surgery to get the bullet removed. What the hell?
KATRINA: I did it, because you could not convict that man. The man who raped me. And, you didn’t even try to file any appeals. Liza, you claimed to be the best lawyer in Pennsylvania. That is why I chose you to convict my rapist, but you couldn’t even do that.
LIZA: Katrina, I am sorry, but there just wasn’t enough evidence.
KATRINA: There was me and sperm. That should have been enough.
JESSE: (walking over to Katrina) Katrina…, I’m gonna need your wrist.
KATRINA: What?
JESSE: You just said you shot Liza Colby. No matter the circumstances, that is still a crime. You are being arrested.
Just before Jesse pulls his cuffs out, Liza speaks up.
LIZA: Jesse, wait!
JESSE: For what? She just admitted she shot you.
LIZA: I know. But, I need a minute.
JESSE: A minute for what?
LIZA: Katrina and I are going to have a little chat.
Liza stares Katrina dead on.
