All My Children - Episode 39

Created By: Agnes Nixon

Executive Producer: Dawn Hayes

Directed By: Susan Simon

A new night has come to Pine Valley. Along with it, has come a thunderstorm.

At the Slater Home, Kendall enters and is soaking wet. Zach walks over to her.

KENDALL: It is an absolute mess out there.

ZACH: Hey baby.

Kendall and Zach kiss one another.

KENDALL: Hi, baby.

ZACH: So, how did the funeral go?

KENDALL: My sister did not like the thought of saying goodbye to the love of her life, for good. Then again, who would?

---

At Bianca’s Hotel Room, Bianca and Miranda enter, shutting their umbrellas.

BIANCA: That storm is something.

ANNOUNCER: The role of Miranda Montgomery is now being played by, Bianca A. Santos.

MIRANDA: Yeah, it is.

BIANCA: So, do you want pizza for dinner?

MIRANDA: Actually, I want to talk, mom.

BIANCA: Talk about what?

MIRANDA: I want to talk about what you gave up, today.

Bianca is caught of guard.

---

At Erica’s Penthouse, Erica is in her pajamas, and wearing a pink silk robe. There is a knock at the door, and she goes over to answer it.

ERICA: What the hell are you doing here?

JOSHUA: We need to talk. Mom.

---

---

At Opal’s Home, Joe sits down on the couch with Opal for some tea.

OPAL: I am so happy that you could stop by for a cup of tea.

JOE: Of course. So, how are you doing?

OPAL: Wonderful! Recovery is going great.

JOE: I’m happy to hear that.

OPAL: So, I am sure that you did not stop by to just talk about my recovery. I am sure that there is something else.

JOE: (sighs) You can always figure me out.

OPAL: You got that right. So, what is going on?

JOE: We need to talk about it.

OPAL: What?

JOE: The secret you have been hiding for over forty years.

---

Back at the Slater Home, Kendall sits her purse and keys on the coffee table.

KENDALL: Bianca and I took a walk through this park path. We got to talking. I tried to assure her that I know what it is like to lose someone. I thought I lost you.

ZACH: Yeah. She has to know that she will get through it.

KENDALL: I think she is in a state of where she is confused. With confusion comes a state where you don’t know how strong you really are.

ZACH: I hear you on that one. Hey, I have an idea of what you could do for Bianca. I know something that will do just right for her.

KENDALL: What is that?

ZACH: Well, you offered Madison that position for the perfume and Fusion revival thing. What if you brought Bianca on? She was a Fusion employer for a long time. She knows the way around the offices, and cosmetics world.

KENDALL: You are right. Plus, she was one of our smartest employees. She always knew how to close a deal. I think I will give her a stake in this.

ZACH: (sighs) Anyways, the boys will be home in an hour.

KENDALL: An hour? Really?

ZACH: Yeah.

KENDALL: I say we should move this to the bedroom, Mr. Slater.

ZACH: Sounds good, Mrs. Slater.

The two laugh, and run after one another up the stairs.

---

Back at Erica’s Penthouse, Joshua enters as Erica shuts the door.

ERICA: Forgive me if I seem caught off guard. I just believed that after we unhooked you from those monitors…, I just believed I would never see you again.

JOSHUA: I thought I would never see any of you people again. But, then Annie came into my life, and revived me.

ERICA: Would you like anything? I ordered Asian food tonight, and I have plenty of leftovers. You could always heat some up.

JOSHUA: I’m good. I just want to talk to you.

ERICA: About what?

JOSHUA: Do you think I could ever have a shot at redemption?

---

Back at Bianca’s Hotel Room, Miranda and Bianca are sitting at the dining table, and eating room service, and drinking soda and water.

MIRANDA: Mom, I didn’t mean to catch you off guard.

BIANCA: No, do not do that. Honey, you did not catch me off guard. I just want to sit here and eat, and not be talking about what happened.

MIRANDA: I’m sorry that I could not be there today. I got a call from my professor who mistakenly misplaced my thesis.

BIANCA: You are here, now. That is all that matters.

MIRANDA: I just wish I could have been there.

BIANCA: I will say this. I do wish that Marissa was still here. She should not have died, but here is the thing. Marissa will always be miss, but I am thankful that she has brought so many things into my life.

MIRANDA: I love you mom.

BIANCA: (taking Miranda’s hand) I love you too, honey. I love you too.

---

Back at Opal’s Home, Opal pours Joe another cup of tea.

OPAL: I really do not want to talk about that.

JOE: Opal, you confided in me about this secret.

OPAL: You have known about this since you treated my brain tumor. Why are you bringing this up now? Why now? Right this minute.

JOE: Opal, you expected me to call this person if things got rocky.

OPAL: But, I’m in recovery.

JOE: I still have her number. I can call her.

OPAL: No. You will not call, Diane.

JOE: No one knows. No one knows about this secret. No one knows! Not Tad, Peter, hell not even Palmer ever knew.

OPAL: It will stay that way.

JOE: So you never want anyone to know that you have a daughter?

OPAL: No. And, it will stay that way.

The camera zooms in on Opal’s serious face.
